Snider et al developed a brief risk assessment for intimate partner violence that is based on 5 questions. This can help to identify a person at increased risk for severe injury or lethal assault. The authors are from St Michael's Hospial, University of Toronto, and the Johns Hopkins University.

(2) ever use or threaten to use a weapon (odds ratio 2.1)
(3) capable of killing (odds ratio 2.6)
(4) ever beaten while pregnant (odds ratio 2.2)
(5) violently and constantly jealous (odds ratio 3.0)
