Wongpakaran et al reported 2 short-Bord screening tools for borderline personality disorder (S-Bord). These are subsets of the 15 items from SCID-II PQ. Lohanan et al modified one of these tools to create a screening instrument for borderline personality disorder (SI-Bord).

(1) abandonment avoidance (becoming frantic when someone left)
(2) instability in interpersonal relationships (up-and-down relationships)
(3) identity disturbance (sudden change of sense of self)
(4) suicidal and self-harm behaviors
(5) affective instability (sudden mood change)
