Description

Anderson et al used 3 simple ECG criteria for separating an anterior from an inferior myocardial infarction. The authors are from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Patient exclusions:

(1) ventricular hypertrophy

(2) fascicular block

(3) bundle branch block

Screening criteria:

(1) Q wave >= 30 ms in lead aVF

(2) R wave <= 10 ms in duration AND <= 0.1 mV in amplitude in V2

(3) R wave >= 40 ms in V1
