Description

Providenci et al reported the ScREEN score for evaluating a patient undergoing cardiac resynchronization therapy. It can predict response to the therapy and mortality. The authors are from multiple institutions in England, France, Sweden and Switzerland.

ScREEN is an acronym for sex category, renal function, ECG, ejection fraction and NYHA.

Parameters:

(1) sex of the patient

(2) renal function as eGFR in mL per minute

(3) ECG as QRS duration in milliseconds

(4) left ejection fraction in percent

(5) NYHA status

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 5

• The higher the score the better the prognosis.
