SPUTOVAMO-R (revised) is a screening instrument to detect child abuse. SPUTOVAMO is an acronym based on the first letter of the 9 questions in the original questionnaire. The authors are from The Netherlands.


Patient selection: pediatric patient in the Emergency Department

 

Questions:

(1) injury compatible with the history and corresponding with the age of the child

(2) history consistent when repeated

(3) delay in ER attendance without satisfactory explanation

(4) head to toe examination suspect

(5) other unexplained injury in history

(6) mother/father and child show appropriate behavior and interaction

Interpretation:

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 6
