Chaker et al reported a score for predicting urinary fistula in a patient with renal hydatid cysts. The authors are from the University of Tunis El Manar.
Patient selection: renal hydatid cysts
Parameters:
(1) cyst diameter in cm
(2) cyst location in kidney
(3) hydaturia
(4) absolute eosinophil count per microliter

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 15
• A score >= 8 had a specificity of 100% but sensitivity of 46% for urinary fistula.
• The maximum Youden score was for >= 3 with sensitivity of 80% and specificity of 79%.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.80.
