Carmo et al reported a score for evaluating an asymptomatic patient who is having a carotid endarterectomy. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive or alternative therapy. The authors are from Ospedale San Carlo Borromeo, Spedali Civili Brescia, IRCCS Policlinico di San Donato and IRCCS Fondazione Ca Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan.
