Functional abdominal pain not otherwise specified (NOS) can be diagnosed using the Rome IV criteria.
Patient selection: pediatric patient with abdominal pain
Criteria for functional abdominal pain NOS:
(1) episodic or continuous abdominal pain
(2) >= 4 episodes per month
(3) symptoms present for >= 2 months
(4) pain does not occur solely in association with a physiologic event (eating, etc)
(5) unable to diagnosis other functional disorders (irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia, abdominal migraine)
(6) no evidence of an cause for the abdominal pain identified after an appropriate evaluation
