Description

Atiq et al reported a risk score for future bleeding in patients with von Willebrand disease (vWD). This can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from Erasmus University and Erasmus MC Sophia Children's Hospital in Rotterdam.

Patient selection: low VWF. The cut-off for a low VWF concentration is 0.60 IU/mL.

Parameters:

(1) age at diagnosis in years

(2) bleeding score at diagnosis (ISTH Bleeding Assessment Tool)
