Description

Okin et al correlated ECG criteria for left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) with prognosis for a patient with hypertension. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from Weill Cornell Medical College, Merck Research Labs, University of Oslo and University of Michigan.

Patient selection: hypertension

Composite end-points: myocardial infarction, stroke, cardiovascular mortality, all-cause mortality

Parameters:

(1) left ventricular hypertrophy by Cornell product

(2) left ventricular hypertrophy by Sokolow-Lyon voltage criteria
