Regular risk factors for thromboembolism:
(1) age > 35 years
(2) body mass index (BMI) > 30 kg per square meter
(3) parity >= 4
(4) presence of grossly evident varicose veins
(5) presence of a current infection
(6) presence of pre-eclampsia during the pregnancy
(7) immobility for >= 5 days prior to the Cesarean section procedure
(8) emergency Cesarean section
(9) major concurrent illness
Major risk factors for thromboembolism:
(9) Cesarean hysterectomy
(10) history of thrombophilia and/or deep vein thrombosis
