Most patients were involved in motor vehicle accidents
Risk factors associated with perioperative cardiac arrest:
(1) male (70-80% of cases)
(2) age 18 to 50 years of age, with smaller peak in 65-79 years
(3) ASA status >= 3
(4) general anesthesia
(5) neurological, abdominal, or multi-clinical surgery
(6) uncontrolled hemorrhage
The survival after perioperative cardiac arrest was low.
