Description

Blanco et al identified risk factors for a patient being colonized with multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii on admission to an intensive care unit (ICU). Being colonized with multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter is associated with a worse outcome. The authors are from the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, Yale University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
