Risk factors for SCFE:

(3) deeper acetabula
(4) coxa vara
(5) femoral and acetabular retroversion
(6) pituitary/hypophysis dysfunction
(7) hypothyroidism
(8) hypogonadism
(9) chronic renal failure
(10) vitamin D (calcitriol) deficit
(11) malnutrition
(12) hyperparathyroidism
(13) Frolich's syndrome
(14) Marfan's syndrome
(15) Klinefelter's syndrome
(16) Down's syndrome
(17) radiation
(18) chemotherapy (actinomycin D, other)
(19) glucocorticoids
(20) decreased expression of collagen type II and proteoglycans
