Description

Shoulder injuries are common in rugby players.


Shoulder injuries include:

(1) dislocation

(2) rotator cuff tear

(3) rotator cuff strain

(4) impingement

(5) subluxation

(6) muscle spasm, rupture, or tear

(7) tendonitis

(8) glenoid labrum tear

 

Risk factors for shoulder injury:

(1) tackling

(2) overtraining or improper training technique

(3) position (tight 5, centers, fullbacks, utility forwards)

(4) previous shoulder injury
