Placenta previa refers to a placental implantation at or near the internal cervical os. A number of risk factors may be associated with placenta previa.
Risk factors for placenta previa:
(1) chronic hypertension
(2) multiparity
(3) multiple gestations
(4) older age
(5) previous cesarean section
(6) tobacco use
(7) urine curettage
