Carbon monoxide poisoning is a hazard for construction workers, particularly when risk factors are present.
Source of carbon monoxide:
(1) gasoline or diesel equipment (generator, forklift, heavy equipment, etc)
(2) explosives
(3) natural decomposition
(4) fire
(5) welding
(6) gas appliance (heater, etc)
Poor ventilation:
(1) tunnel
(2) trench
(3) enclosed space

Lack of preventive measures:
(1) lack of atmospheric monitoring
