Description

Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSCR) may develop if certain risk factors are present.


 

Most common associations:

(1) systemic corticosteroids

(2) topical corticosteroids

(3) Cushing’s syndrome

 

Other risk factors:

(1) severe stress

(2) type A personality

(3) hypertension

(4) sleep disorder, including obstructive sleep apnea

(5) Helicobacter gastritis

(6) antiphospholipid antibody syndrome

(7) SLE

(8) drugs (tadalafil, topical latanoprost)

(9) herbal remedies

(10) pregnancy

(11) retinitis pigmentosa

(12) leprosy
