Description

Yoon et al evaluated patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). They used age, performance status and comorbidity to stratify patients by risk with selection of a therapy appropriate for the level of risk. The authors are from The Catholic University of Korea in Seoul.


 

Patient selection: older adult (age > 60 years) with AML

 

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) ECOG performance status

(3) comorbidity index (Charlson or hematopoietic cell transplantation specific comorbidity index (HCT-CI of Sorror et al), with a score >= 2 considered significant (moderate or severe)
