Rhododendron is a genus of ornamental evergreem shrubs or small trees with pink, purple or white flowers.
Potential exposures of human exposure:
(1) eating the leaves
(2) tea made from leaves
(3) honey from bees feeding on the plant's flowers
Clinical findings:
(1) nausea and vomiting
(2) weakness
(3) dizziness
(4) blurred vision or diplopia
(5) sweating
(6) a decreased level of consciousness
(7) bradycardia with ECG changes including complete heart block or Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome
(8) hypotension
Person at risk from the intoxication:
(1) large exposure
(2) pre-existing cardiac conduction defect
(3) serious comorbid condition
