Description

The Western Consortium for Cancer Nursing Research (WCCNR) developed a staging system for chemotherapy-induced stomatitis with 8 parameters (lesions, color, bleeding, moisture, edema, infection, ability to eat and drink, and pain). Subsequent studies found that just 3 parameters sufficed for staging the severity of the stomatitis.
