Description

EuroSCORE II is a revision of the original European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation. This can help to determine the risk of cardiac surgery for a patient. The authors are from multiple institutions in Europe.

Parameters:

(1) NYHA class

(2) Canadian Cardiovascular Society functional classification for angina

(3) insulin-dependent diabetes

(4) age

(5) sex

(6) extracardiac arteriopathy (claudication, carotid artery occlusion, etc)

(7) chronic pulmonary dysfunction

(8) neuromuscular dysfunction severely affecting mobility

(9) redo operation

(10) renal dysfunction

(11) active endocarditis

(12) critical preoperative state

(13) left ventricular function

(14) recent myocardial infarction (within past 90 days)

(15) pulmonary artery systolic pressure in mm Hg

(16) urgency of surgery

(17) procedural weight

(18) surgery on thoracic aorta
