Description

The Revised Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index (RCLASI) is used to evaluate disease activity and damage in patients with cutaneous lupus erythematosus. The total score is a summation of all the components involved. The authors are from the University of Muenster, University of Dusseldorf, and Fachklinik Bad Bentheim in Germany

(1) skin lesions activity score

(2) mucous membrane lesions activity score

(3) alopecia activity score

Parameters comprising the total damage score::

(1) skin lesions damage score

(2) alopecia damage score

total activity score =

= (skin lesions activity) + (mucous membrane lesions activity) + (alopecia activity)

total damage score =

= (skin lesions damage) + (alopecia damage)

Interpretation:

• minimum activity or damage score: 0

• maximum activity score: 144

• maximum damage score: 62
