A military patient who is being transported between medical facilities should be resuscitated and stabilized prior to transport. This is indicated by the meeting of specific resuscitation goals.
Resuscitation goals:
(1) heart rate 50 to 120 beats per minute
(2) systolic blood pressure > 90 mm Hg (mean arterial pressure > 60 mm Hg)
(3) oxygen saturation > 92% with FIO2< 50%
(4) body core temperature > 35°C (95°C)
(5) urine output > 50 mL per hour
(6) hemoglobin > 8.0 g/dL
(7) platelet count > 50,000 per µL
(8) INR < 2.0
(9) base deficit < 6
(10) serum lactate < 2.5 mmol/L
