A red flag warning may be issued for weather conditions associated with a high risk for wild fires.


 

A red flag warning is issued when:weather conditions are present or imminent.

 

Weather conditions associated with high risk of wild fire – all of the following:

(1) strong winds

(2) low relative humidity

(3) high temperatures

 

Places at risk are usually very dry and have combustible materials. The risk is greatest for sites with high density of combustible materials in close proximity to habited areas.

 

In addition, there should be no rain expected for some time.
