Description

Poh et al reported the Real-World Risk Score for hepatocellular carcinoma (RWS-HCC) for identifying a patient with chronic hepatitis B virus who is at risk for hepatocellular carcinoma. The authors are from Singapore General Hospital, Academia Sinica (Taipei), National Yang-Ming University, The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and National Taiwan University.

Interpretation:

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 8

A score < 4.5 is associated with a very low rate of hepatocellular carcinoma.

A score >= 4.5 was associated with a continuous increase in risk for hepatocellular carcinma, with a 20% probability at 6 years.

 

Performance:

The area under the ROC cure was 0.915.
