Description

Lane et al developed a grading scheme for radiographs from the hip, hand and spine in patients with osteoarthritis. This can aid in the initial evaluation of the patient and in the monitoring of the condition over time. The authors are from the University of California San Francisco and the University of Maryland.

Parameters seen on joint radiographs:

(1) osteophytes

(2) joint narrowing
