Radiation recall dermatitis (RRD) is a complication of radiation therapy that may occur months or years after the radiation exposure.
Clinical features:
(1) history of radiation exposure
(2) occurrence of a dermatitis primarily in the previous radiation field
(3) occurrence of dermatitis triggered by exposure to a drug or vaccine
(4) exclusion of other causes of dermatitis
Triggering agents are diverse and may include:
(1) immune checkpoint inhibitors
(2) standard chemotherapeutic agents
(3) antibiotics
(4) NSAIDs
(5) vaccines (COVID-19, other)
(6) prednisone
(7) tamoxifen
(8) methotrexate
(9) interferon
