Lejoyeux and Ades developed a questionnaire to screen for compulsive buying behavior. The authors are from Paris and Colombes in France.


 

The questions cover a variety of common features found in compulsive buyers:

(1) impulsivity

(2) urges to buy or shop

(3) emotions felt before, during or after a purchase

(4) post-purchase guilt and regret

(5) short term gratification

(6) tangible consequences of buying

(7) avoidance strategies
