A pyogenic granuloma-like Kaposi sarcoma (KS) can be easily misdiagnosed.
Features of a pyogenic granuloma-like Kaposi sarcoma:
(1) It may occur in patients with or without HIV.
(2) It is a vascular neoplasm that may clinically and pathologically resemble a pyogenic granuloma.
(3) The lesion shows evidence of human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8).
