Purpose: To evaluate a patient in the Emergency Department with a suspected pulmonary embolism using the YEARS algorithm of van der Hulle et al.

van der Hulle et al reported an algorithm developed through the YEARS study. This can help guide the evaluation of a patient with suspected pulmonary embolism in the Emergency Department (ED). The authors are from multiple institutions in the Netherlands.
