Description

Conditions affecting the orbital floor or inferior oblique muscle may mimic Brown's syndrome. These need to be excluded when evaluating a patient with possible Brown's syndrome.

Differential diagnosis of pseudo-Brown's syndrome:

(2) acquired defect of the inferior oblique muscle or tendon

(3) fracture of the orbital floor

(4) congenital or acquired adhesions in the lower and/or posterior orbit
