Yamada et al reported a prognostic score for a patient with heart failure based on the FLAGSHIP cohort. The score includes physical frailty as a measure. The authors are from Nagoya University and Fujita Health University in Japan.
Patient selection: acute heart failure >= 70 years of age, capable of walking 20 m at discharge
Parameters:
(1) grip strength and sex, as a measure of weakness or muscle strength
(2) walking speed in meters per second
(3) self-efficacy for walking 7 (SEW-7) as a measure of physical inactivity, from 7 to 35
(4) performance measures for activities of daily living 8 (PMADL-8), from 8 to 32
