Description

Taussig et al developed a clinical prognostic score for patients with cystic fibrosis. This can help monitor the patient over time and the response to clinical interventions. The authors are from the National Institutes of Health.

Parameters:

(1) lung X-ray changes

(2) acute lung infiltrate on chest X-ray

(3) vital capacity as percent of predicted

(4) FEV1 to FVC ratio

(5) pulmonary exacerbation

(6) pneumothorax

(7) massive hemoptysis

(8) hemoptysis of lesser degree

(9) pulmonary surgery (any resection)

(10) cor pulmonale

(11) physical examination of the lungs

(12) sputum production and/or cough

(13) appetite

(14) current weight compared to standard for gender and age

(15) weight loss

(16) activity

(17) dyspnea

(18) following of instructions

(19) depression
