Description

Liu et al reported a prognostic score for a patient with unclassified myelodysplastic syndrome or myelodysplastic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management.

Parameters:

(1) absolute neutrophil count per microliter

(2) peripheral blood blasts

(3) hemoglobin in g/dL

(4) serum LDH in U/L

(5) age in years

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 11

• The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
