Description

Shen et al reported a nomogram for predicting survival for a patient with CD5-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management or a novel therapy. The authors are from Xuzhou Medical University, Soochow University, Arhui Medical University, Shandong University and multiple affiliated hospitals.

Patient selection: CD5-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Parameters:

(1) red blood cell count in 10^12/L

(2) MYC expression in immunohistochemistry

(3) absolute neutrophil count

(4) hepatosplenomegaly

(5) International Prognostic Index (IPI)

(6) age in years

= SUM(points for all of the parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 509.6

• The higher the score the worse the 5-year survival.

value of X =

= (-0.00003576 * ((score)^2)) - (0.006208 * (score)) + 2.756

probability of 5-year survival =

= 1 / (1 + EXP((-1) * X))

Performance:

• The area under the ROC curve is 0.81 in the derivation and 0.77 in the validation cohorts.
