Description

Kasymjanova et al reported a simple prognostic index for patients with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This can help to predict response to therapy and overall survival. The authors are from Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital and McGill University in Montreal.

Patient selection: Stage IV NSCLC prior to therapy

Parameters:

(1) serum CRP in mg/L

(2) white blood cell count in 10^9/L

Interpretation:

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 2

The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
