Wang et al reported prognostic factors for patients with gastric lymphoma. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from West China Hospital and Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.
Patient selection: gastric lymphoma
Predictors of worse overall survival:
(1) elevated serum LDH concentration
(2) ECOG status >= 2
(3) advanced stage (Lugano stage >= 2E)
(4) diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL)
Surgery was associated with better survival in patients with DLBCL but not MALT lymphoma.
