Savage et al reported prognostic factors for patients with an ALK-negative anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL) These can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from institutions around the world participating in the International Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma Project.
Outcomes: overall survival and failure-free survival (FFS)

Interpretation:
• minimum number of adverse prognostic factors: 0
• maximum number of adverse prognostic factors: 3
• The outcome is worse as the number of adverse prognostic factors increase.
• The prognosis for an ALK-negative ALCL is worse than for a patient with an ALK+ ALCL.
