The prognostic factors selected by Niklasson et al can be used to identify patients with meningococcal infection who are at risk for death.
Patient population:
(1) The ages ranged from 6 months to 67 years of age.
(2) All patients were treated at the same hospital over a 9 year period.
(3) Patients included those with either septicemic or meningitis cases.
