Gottlieb et al identified prognostic factors for a patient with idiopathic linear IgA bullous dermatosis (LABD). These can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from multiple institutions in France.
Patient selection: idiopathic linear IgA bullous dermatosis (LABD), with pure or predominant IgA deposits at the dermo-epidermal junction
Prognostic factors:
(1) age of the patient in years
(2) mucous membrane involvement at diagnosis

Interpretation:
• minimum number: 0
• maximum number: 2
• The presence of both factors was associated with chronic disease.
• The presence of neither factors was associated with complete remission.
