Description

Castillo et al identified prognostic factors for a patient with Bing-Neel syndrome associated with Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia. The authors are from multiple institutions in the United States and Europe.

Patient selection: Bing-Neel syndrome (BNS)

Factors associated with a worse prognosis:

(1) age > 65 years

(2) platelet count < 100,000 per µL

(3) therapy for Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia prior to diagnosis of BNS
