Description

The prognosis of a patient with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia can be predicted based on clinical and laboratory findings.


 

Favorable prognostic factors:

(1) age < 1 year at time of diagnosis

(2) bone marrow transplant

 

Unfavorable prognostic factors:

(1) age > 2 years of age at time of diagnosis

(2) platelet count < 33,000 per µL at time of diagnosis

(3) hemoglobin F > 15% at time of diagnosis
