Stinear et al revised the original PREP algorithm as the PREP2. This can help to predict upper limb functional outcome following a stroke and can help plan the plans for rehabilitation. The authors are from the University of Auckland.
Patient selection: recent stroke
Outcome: functional outcome of upper limb at 3 months after stroke
Parameters:
(1) SAFE score on day 3 (sum of shoulder abduction and finger extension with each 0 to 5; sum score from 0 to 10)
(2) age of the patient in years
(3) muscle evoked potentials (MEP) on day 3 to 7
(4) NIHSS on day 3
