A woman with Fanconi anemia may experience premature menopause.
Mechanism: premature ovarian insufficiency with dysfunction and/or depletion of ovarian follicles
Clinical features:
(1) amenorrhea in a woman less than 40 years of age for > 4 months
(2) history of subfertility or infertility
(3) elevated serum FSH
(4) history of Fanconi anemia
