Description

Maignien et al identified factors associated with impaired assisted reproduction for a woman with endometriosis-related infertility. A woman with these factors may require more aggressive management to reproduce. The authors are from Universite Paris Descartes, Hopital Universitaire Paris Centre, and Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Cochin in Paris.

Patient selection: woman with endometriosis-related infertility

Predictors of low fertility rate after assisted reproduction:

(1) previous surgery for endometriosis without ovarian endometrioma

(2) previous surgery for ovarian endometrioma

(3) AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) < 2 ng/mL

(4) antral follicle count < 10

where:

• The AMH and antral follicle counts indicate reduced ovarian reserve.

The presence of multiple negative predictors would be associated with decreased success in assisted reproduction.
