Predictors of a poor quality of life:
(1) number of comorbidites
(2) clinical stage of the tumor
(3) tumor location in the esophagus
(4) histologic type of esophageal cancer

• The histologic type of tumor impacts the tumor location, with many adenocarcinomas located distally.
Moderate to severe complications would seem to be an additional factor impacting the quality of life. The predictors given would impact the likelihood of complications.
