Wang et al a model for predicting postoperative hyperlactatemia (POHL) in a patient with acute Type A aortic dissection. POHL is a predictor of in-hospital mortality. The authors are from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University in Wuhan, China.


Patient selection: acute type A aortic dissection

 

Hyperlactatemia was defined as peak arterial blood lactate concentration > 4 mmol/L in the first 12 hours in the ICU.
