Description

Calvet et al reported the PRECORIS score (from the PREdict asymptomatic CORonary artery disease in patients with ISchemic stroke and TIA study). The authors are from Paris Descartes University, Centre Hospitalier Sainte-Anne, Yonsei University and Centre Cardiolique du Nort.

Patient selection: noncardioembolic ischemic stroke or TIA

Outcome: occult coronary artery stenosis >= 50% on 64-section CT coronary angiography

Parameters:

(1) Framingham Risk Score (FRS) predicted 10-year risk for CHD

(2) cervicocephalic atherosclerosis on angiography

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 5

• The higher the score the greater the risk for occult coronary artery stenosis.
