Description

De la Camara et al reported the PREDICE-SCORE for predicting mortality for a patient with congestive heart failure. This can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from University Hospital 12 de Octubre, University Hospital Virgen del Rocio and University Hospital de Valme in Spain.

Patient selection: hospitalization for first episode of heart failure

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) creatinine clearance in mL per min

(3) activities of daily living

(4) physiopathologic diagnosis (type of heart failure

(5) serum sodium in mmol/L
